My mother taught me to sew when I was 12 years old and set me up for a lifetime of fabric addiction. That led to starting this business in 2003 as a way to indulge a love of fabric and to financially support following my musician husband around to dance and music camps. My passion is to create things that are not only beautiful but also useful and durable.

The yellow cat, for whom I named my business and whose photo graces my website, was our beloved cat for many years. He was big and soft and sweet and loved to be held like a burping baby, with his head on my left shoulder. He used to sit under my sewing machine or on my lap when I was trying to type at the computer. Sadly, he died a few years ago.
